QR Code On Pan Card |
QR code technology on PAN card, know everything about it
According to income tax rules, it is illegal to have more than one PAN card. However, many users and companies have been caught multiple times holding more than one PAN card, with the help of which they were misleading the Income Tax Department. In such a situation, the IT department is now issuing PAN cards with QR codes to eliminate misuse and duplication of PAN. Since last year (July, 2018), taxpayers are getting PAN cards with Enhanced Quick Response (QR) code. However, old PAN cards are fully valid and have not been discontinued.
The QR code found on the PAN card contains the signature and photograph of the taxpayer. Apart from this, generic information like PAN number, name, father / mother's name and date of birth are also saved in it. All these details are digitally signed and coded in the QR code. This code is also given in the e-PAN card. If you want to read the code given on your or a user's PAN card, then install the PAN QR Code Reader app in the device from the Play Store. After this, open the app and scan the code from the phone's camera. After this, you will be shown on the information screen attached to the code.
Use Aadhaar instead of pan
Adhaar Card |
The central government has made it clear that PAN and Aadhaar card can be used instead of each other. In such a situation, you can fill the Aadhaar number instead of PAN number to fill your income tax return. Apart from this, Aadhaar can be used for services where PAN is required. However, PAN and Aadhaar have to be linked between each other and if your PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar number then it can be deactivated. Before September 30, 2019, you will have to link PAN and Aadhaar number and failing which PAN will be invariably invalidated.

By doing this, fake and duplicate PAN cards can be removed from the system. To get your Aadhaar linked to PAN, you will have to go to the e-portal of Income Tax Vibhaar. Here the 'Link Aadhaar' option will be found in the Quick Links section, click on it. After this, Aadhaar number, PAN, Name and Capcha code will have to be filled and submitted. After verification, your Aadhaar and PAN will be linked by UIDAI.
You can send UIDPAN (12 digit Aadhaar number) (10 digit PAN) to 567678 or 56161. In this way also the Aadhaar and PAN can be linked.
