In fact, after fasting for the long life of her husband all day, she opens her fast by eating a morsel from the hands of her moon after seeing the glowing moon in the sky. The fast of Karvachauth starts just before 4 am in the morning, and the fast is opened only after Chandradarshan at night. Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Shri Ganesh are worshiped on this day and the story of Karvachauth Vrat is heard. Normally, this fast is done continuously for 12 or 16 years after marriage, but married people can keep this fast for a lifetime as per their wish. It is believed that no fast is better than this for the long life of her husband.
